Grrr UPS

Unable to deliver it says, liar liar pants on fire – I was in the house,  I wasn’t doing laundry, I wasn’t in the bathroom, I wasn’t playing loud music, I was in the kitchen drinking coffee, reading the paper at the time they said they tried to deliver.  If the guy had rung the doorbell I would have heard it, if he had knocked the door I would have heard it.

Believe it or not, this has happened before a few years back, I was down the bottom of the driveway and I saw a ups guy sticking something on my door. When I ran up to tell him I was in fact in, he came clean – he didn’t ring the doorbell, he’d actually forgotten my package. What’s the point of that, why leave a note on the door at all, why not simply bypass and deliver the following day?

A morning in the life of…

crying.gifI always leave for work at 8:45. I have time to drop the kids of at school then shoot over the hill to my job. Today hubby’s schedule won’t allow him to pick up the kids, so I made arrangements for Conor to stay in the extended hour program until I could get there.

My day so far:

8:45: coats on Matthew remembers he needs a photo of his hero to go with a project. I run down stairs, find a photo, print it. the black ink is empty. I reopen the browser (’cause I’d closed everything when I hit ”print’), find the same photo, hit print, closed the browser. The magenta is now empty. Repeat above, replace with new magenta cartridge and complete mission.

8:55: I managed to open the front door this time. Matthew runs back in he forgot his makeup homework. Five minutes to find the stapler so he can put them together, and off.

8:04: We’re in the car, I forget Conor’s bag.

8:10: We’re on our way until some dimwit parents of a St. Peter’s student decided to block traffic to let her equally dimwit son out the car.

8:20: I’m finally on Henderson making good time until I have to pull over because Conor has somehow managed to wriggle out of his car seat.

8:30: I finally enter the school parking lot and try and safely maneuver around all the nitwit parents in big SUVs who also seem to think it appropriate to double park and let out their kids. (keep in mind, I’m usually in work by 8:30 on account my first class is at 8:45)

8:45: I finally make it to work, only to be told I have no lessons because there is a workshop going on there today, and they need my lab, but would it be possible for me to make up the day on Friday since 8th grade are being screwed out of a lot of lessons.

9:50: Back in the kid’s school parking lot to see if it would be ok for Conor to attend school on Friday so I can go to my job. Pay Matthew’s tuition, made small talk with the secretary and off.

10:15: Called up the kid’s school even though I was just there, because the small talk frazzled my brain and I forgot to let them know there was no need for Conor to go to the extended hours program today because EVERYONE WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND DECIDED TO FUCK WITH ME!
