The news wasn’t good I’m afraid – not only has she got lung cancer, but it’s spread into the liver. She was told it’s terminal, they can’t cure it, but they can treat it. Howevere they’ve only given her a couple of years :(‘

Imagine having that sprung on you on a Friday morning.
First priority is to treat the tumor on the lung with radiation (which starts next week) to try and shrink it so she can breath easier, then chemo for everything else.

Needless to say, I haven’t been having a good day.

I think I’m angry more than anything. After the breast cancer 5 years ago, my mom’s been having regular mammograms – you’d think since she has a history, they’d have given her full body scans to make sure it hadn’t spread elsewhere wouldn’t you. It’s a bloody brainer really… it’s not unheard of for cancer to migrate someplace else when the breast has gone.

With regular full scans, they might have caught this earlier, but now…
