It’s not good news for my mom, she got the results of the scan this morning, and the cancer is back. CANCER! Have to say that foreign word a couple of time for it to sink in…CANCER!CANCER!CANCER!CANCER!
She had breast cancer back in August 2001, which seems a life time away – hell I wasn’t even blogging back in 2001. She had her breast removed back then, recovery was hard considering her age, but she pulled through.
So it’s back, same side, so it’s spread…probably in the lung…but I’m guessing, but what the hell else is in the chest?
I’m feeling ‘flat’ right now, no emotion, just blah! Lots of thoughts, but unsure how to put them down.
Note to self – don’t catch up on blog reading when the brain is all fuzzy, entires get all mixed up. I read something about a grease monkey and inserting a hose, wondered what one had to do with the other until I realized two different blogs were involved. argh!
I have to go to work…
UPDATE – she’s scheduled for an emergency bronchoscopy next Thursday. Apparently, Thursday is the only day they do this procedure. Notice the word “emergency”
e·mer·gen·cy
n. pl. e·mer·gen·cies
- A serious situation or occurrence that happens unexpectedly and demands immediate action.
- A condition of urgent need for action or assistance: a state of emergency.
It seems emergency in the UK means something different.
