Only AOL
At work today:
Child (over 12yrs old) – Mrs. D, where can I get this game?
Me – Go to the internet, then Google.com, type in the name and get your mom/dad/pc savvy person to download it, it’s shareware.
Child – Um, never-mind, can’t do it, I don’t have the internet, only AOL.
Heh, what could I say?
Hubby on Tetris
My hubby isn’t technologically savvy, not stupid, simply not interested in computers and such, doesn’t even own a cell phone. If I leave him in front of the pc, it would probably take him a good 15 minutes before he figured out how to turn it on :o. With some heavy tutoring from my 10 yr old, he could master a few levels of a video game, but it’s not an enjoyable pastime for him.
My son got a tetris stocking stuffer, a little hand held game, nothing special, but fun. I’ve taken to leaving it in the basement, and when I pop down there for a quick smoke, I sit and play.
Hubby disappears for a good half hour this evening so I go investigate.
There he is in the basement on my folding chair tetris game in hand, intently staring at the screen.
Hubby – how do you play this, it doesn’t make sense?
I crouch down beside him and take over the game.
Hubby – what are you doing, the lines are disappearing, you’ll never win that way.
I pause the game and look up at him.
Me – um, that’s the point honey, make lines, when you make lines, they disappear. The idea is to make the required number of lines in the alloted time. Just make lines, that’s it.
Hubby (all innocent) – Ah, I thought I had to fill up the screen as quickly as possible.
:) gotta love him.
Candy Apples
All I want is a candy apple – - I’d like a few candy apples, but at this point I’d be happy with just one candy apple. But, after a week of searching Pathmark, Walbaums, Shoprite, and the local stores I’ve come up empty handed.
Apparently they’re out of season. HUH! Since when have candy apples been a seasonal thing.
What started out as a little whim as now turned into a full blown candy apple obsession. GIMME A FRIGGIN CANDY APPLE!

Ah well
Today whilst working, a great blog entry jumped into thought. It was original, charming, and extremely witty. So witty in fact, I was chuckling whilst installing programs on the 16 new pcs I got for my lab.
Unfortunately, like many masterpieces, by the time I came home, the whole entry had slipped into the far recess of my mind, and I couldn’t recall one measly sentence.
However, I do remember Jr writing about suffering from the same forgetfulness, although I can’t find the original entry.
Amazing how I can remember something someone else wrote a month ago, but forget what I was thinking a few hours ago.
They start early
I think he’s going to be a butt man, either that or he wanted to try on the dress.
